NEW Video Consultations

We are pleased to announce the commencement of our new VIDEO CONSULTATION service. We are offering online consultations and these appointments may be made through the HotDoc link above. TELEHEALTH (telephone) consultations can be made with any doctor at any time by booking online or by ringing our reception team.

What is a Video consultation?

Video consultations are a screen based consultation from your device to the doctor.

They are useful for patients who are finding it difficult to attend the surgery in person. This may be because of work or family commitments, poor mobility, significant distance, they are away on holidays or for other various reasons.

It will function much the same way as a normal consultation. We will need to get a history from you, ask you some questions, provide advice and possibly organize investigations, scripts or referrals as she feels is appropriate.

Advantages of Video Consultations

Every patient’s situation is different but in general, the benefits of this service include:

improved access to your doctor

reduced waiting time
reduced travel time and costs
reduced absence from work.

What if I need to be examined?

As yet we haven’t developed robot arms to examine you! So, We think you need to be examined, We will carry out what we can over the video consultation but will request that you attend the surgery at a time in the near future to be examined and to complete the consultation.

How can I have a Video consultation?

To have a video consultation with one of our friendly Doctors you click the HotDoc button or link above. This link will direct you through the steps to register for the service, make an appointment. You will then receive email notification of when the appointment is and how to access the consultation. As long as you have internet access and a device with a front facing camera, speakers and microphone, you will be able to consult via video consultation. Commonly used devices are Ipads, smart phones, tablets, laptops or computers.

Internet connection for video consultation

It is recommended that you use a fixed line or fast WiFi internet connection for your video consultation rather than your mobile phone data. This will minimize the likelihood of drop-outs or fragmented picture and sound quality.

How much will it cost?

This service is fully bulk billed to Medicare for all patients.

Will the video consultation be recorded?

No. Our practice does not record video consultations and we do not give patients permission to make their own recordings of a video consultation.

Who will be present?

The Doctor and yourself. As with a face-to-face appointment, your spouse, partner, family or friend may accompany you if you wish.

What if I need to cancel my appointment?

The same way you made the appointment, you can also cancel the appointment online, or Please call our reception team who will be able to cancel this for you.
